BuildString

Overview

In 2018, I had recently purchased a new Toyota Tacoma and I had some plans to modify it. Looking online, I noticed that many people used forums for sharing what they had build and the steps they went through to build it. It functionally worked fine but it all looked a bit outdated, it was mixed with other types of content and every type of vehicle had its own, separate website.

I wanted something modern and consolidate for folk to share their “Build Threads”…thus “BuildString”. It was a chance to learn some new technologies and build something useful.

I had always tinkered with development but this was well outside my comfort zone. However, armed with a bit of gumption and a few YouTube playlists, I set out to create something that was a mix between Instagram and an old school forum.
